 (8) 1737: Probably received some or all of the 832 acres in Lunenburg Parish willed to him by his father in 1757. He also began buying land in the upper part of Richmond Co., VA.  He acquired by inheritance and purchase 1,698 acres of land near Farnham Church on the Rappahannock River opposite Carter's Wharf. His house at the latter place was called "The Cliffs", which derived its name from its situation on the high banks above the Rappahannock River. It is about 14 miles up the river from "Naylor's Hole" and 18 miles from Warsaw.
 (8) 1741: Commissioned Captain in the VA Militia.
 (2) 1748, 1 Jun: In the general election held for county representative as Burgess in the assembly, Richmond Co., VA, Moor FAUNTLEROY voted for Capt. William FAUNTLEROY and Capt. John WOODBRIDGE. (NOTE: Each freeholder was to vote for 2.  Capt. John WOODBRIDGE received the most votes.)
 (4a) 1757, 5 Oct: William FAUNTLEROY wrote his will. Names son Moore. (8d) William FAUNTLEROY gave to his son Capt. Moore FAUNTLEROY "Quintenaok" in North Farnham Parish, Richmond Co., VA, and three tracts of land totaling 832 acres in Lunenburg Parish.
 (7b) 1762, 19 Feb: Susannah MITCHELL's will recorded, Lancastor Co., VA. Named Moore FAUNTLEROY (Elizabeth).
 (8) 1766, 27 Feb: Probably the Col. Moore FAUNTLEROY of Crondall who signed at Leedstown the Leedstown Resolutions, the first protest of its kind against the Stamp Act. It was written by Richard Henry LEE and signed by 115 patriots of the Northern Neck. A marble plaque containing its full text and the names of all the signers is at the Courthouse at Montrose, VA. [NOTE: Source 8 does not indicate otherwise that he was known as "Col." or that he lived at Crondall. Moore FAUNTLEROY (1750-1793), s/o Moore FAUNTLEROY/Susannah ARMISTEAD, lived at "Crondall" but he was only 16 in 1766.]
 (8) 1782: Moore FAUNTLEROY of "The Cliffs" was taxed for 1698 acres in Lunenburg Parish.
 (8) 1786: Capt. Moore FAUNTLEROY bought from Robert Wormeley CARTER 1006 acres of land in upper King and Queen Co. called "Ring's Neck". It lies 3 or 4 miles from "The Mount" and on the opposite side of the road.
 (8) 1791: Capt. Moore FAUNTLEROY of "The Cliffs" made his will. Left to his son William FAUNTLEROY "Quintenoak" in North Farnham Parish, Richmond Co., VA and all of "The Cliffs" except 80 acres. Left to his son Samuel Griffin FAUNTLEROY "Ring's Neck" in upper King and Queen Co.
 (8) Will recorded in Richmond Co., VA.  An inventory of his estate shows 107 slaves.
