Moses Martin was born in South Carolina and was the son of Absalom Martin and Jane? of Flowery Branch in Hall Co, GA. He was one of at least ten children. Moses and Delilah moved to what is now Forsyth County and built a log cabin on their property near Martins Crossroads, later known as Coal Mountain. They are buried along side each other on the property they homesteaded. Their graves are near Coal Mountain on private property. This is the spot he picked to be buried when he was ill; he died with typhoid fever approximately April 1850. New tombstones were erected by Buell Martin, a descendant, to replace the deteriorating grave sites. Moses came to Forsyth Co from Hall Co between 1830 and 1834.
