John 'de Lacy' FITZ RICHARD Constable of Chester, Ancestor Lacy of Pontefract, son of Richard FITZ EUSTACE Lord of Clavering and Halton and Alfreda 'Aubrey' DE LISOURS Posthumous Heiress of Pontefract, was born circa 1151 in Yorkshire, England and died 11 Oct 1190 in Killed on Crusade in Tyre, Palestine at age 39. John married Alice DE VERE (See Link for Ancestry), daughter of Robert 'of Essex' FITZ SUEIN Lord of Rayleigh and Alice DE VERE Heiress of Ugley, about 1170. Alice was born about 1155 in Rayleigh, Rochford, Essex, England and died after 1190.

Keith Stringer says that "one of the daughters of Roger de Lacy was evidently Alan’s first wife" and that "the manor of Kippax" was her dowry, quoting a charter, dated to [19 Dec 1200/1206], under which "Alanus filius Rollandi, dominus Galuuaith Scotie constabularius…et heredibus meis" gave quitclaim to "Rogero de Lascy Cestrie constabularius et heredibus suis" for "advocationem ecclesie de Kipeis"[1179].]
