Nadine LEBON

Nadine was born in Carentan at 15.30 hrs on 14th August in the 1st floor front room of No22 Rue Du Chateau, one of the oldest houses in the town. Her Father (a Patissier) had a small shop on the street below. I (Patrick) went to Carentan for the first time with my Father (Ernest Ford) and brother (Nicholas Ford) in 2002, to see the house where she was born. Purely by luck talking to the Charcutier in the Rue Du Chateau, I discovered an elderly man (who owned a transport business in the next street). He remembered Pierre Lebon and recalled often having chats with him in the street. Nadine and her Parents moved to La Couronne in Carron, Aix en Provence, in September 1940 and following that to 1 Rue Des Emeres Fontenay Sous Bois in a Paris suburb in1945. I'm guessing that the move was made following the end of the war. Nadine's schooling history is a bit of a haze, but I do know she attended the Sorbonne University in Paris until about 1953
