About Naomi Ware

Second wife of George Ware Sr. and daughter of Hannah Fithian (Barker) and John Breintnall Ackley. Naomi and George were married on 21 Aug 1805 in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Some folks have them married on 25 Aug 1805 but the Document on the right appears to be 21 Aug 1805.

Naomi died from Consumption in Monroe Township, Camden County and it is assumed that she was interred next to her husband in the old Methodist Cemetery on Main Street in Williamstown, Gloucester County, New Jersey. Records for the old cemetery no longer exist. When Naomi died it was called Camden County, today its Gloucester County.

Naomi and George had ten children as follows; John Ackley, Amy, Uriah Ackley, Joseph G., Thomas, Hannah, Sarah, Benjamin, Patience and Albert. The first five children are listed below and the last five are now mentioned in this Bio since we don't know when they died or where they were interred.

1. Hannah was born about 1810 in old Waretown and she married Frederick Zugg. Hannah was listed as one of George Ware's heirs in the settlement of his estate on Oct 1829. It appears that she went westward to Clermont County, Ohio before 1830 and was still living there in 1850 and in 1855 they were in Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa since her last son, John, died there. Hannah and Frederick had the following nine children; Caroline W., Frederick, Joseph, Cordelia, Addison, Caroline A., Emma, George and John.

2. Sarah was born about 1813 in old Waretown and she married Jesse Watson on 12 May 1832 in Gloucester Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey. Cemetery locations for Sarah and Jesse are unknown at this time. Sarah and Jesse had 9 children as follows; Hannah Ann, George, Naomi, Mark, Peter, Christopher, James, Richard and Phillip.

3. Benjamin was born about 1818 in old Waretown. Benjamin was still alive on Oct 1829 since he was listed as one of George Ware's heirs in the settlement of his estate. Nothing else is known about Benjamin at this time, he may have went westward toward Ohio with other members of his family.

4. Patience was born about 1823 in old Waretown and she married some fellow whose last name was Stuart/Stewart. On Oct 1829 since she was listed as one of George Ware's heirs in the settlement of his estate. Nothing else is known about Patience at this time, she may have went westward toward Ohio with other members of his family.

5. Albert was born about 1824 in old Waretown. Albert was still alive on Oct 1829 since he was listed as one of George Ware's heirs in the settlement of his estate. Nothing else is known about Albert at this time, he may have went westward toward Ohio with other members of his family.
