About Nehemiah Ordway, Dr.
Nehemiah was the second child and eldest son of John and Sarah Carr Ordway.
Nehemiah was a student of medicine with Dr. Tufts of Medford and settled in Amesbury where he had an extensive practice and became a prominent citizen. he often was the moderator of town meetings and held various offices. He owned land in Warner, NH and took an active part in settling the town but he never resided there.
It is said that he formed a company of men for the rebellion from Amesbury, MA and one of his sons was at Bunker Hill.
He was a staunch church member and left a legacy to the poor.
He married Patience Bradshaw (of Medford, MA) in Chelmsford, MA on November 22, 1733.
