Nelmarie (55), was raped and tortured to death in her Estoire holding area of Bloemfontein home, on 7th September 2014.

She was believed to have been raped and brutally murdered before her half-naked body was hidden in a storage room under pillows and a sail. Nelmarie worked as a bookkeeper for a scrap yard, says her employer and friends are still shocked by her brutal murder. Coetzee was attacked by an unknown man in front of her small house on Friday night and presumably raped before she was killed. It is suspected that she was stabbed several times with a knife and struck with an object, presumably a fire extinguisher. Blood was still clearly visible on a car wheel and on the ground in the storeroom yesterday. Lesley Kussman, owner of the smallholding and scrap yard for which Coetzee worked for 20 years, searched for her on Saturday morning when she did not show up for work. Her body was found by police officers and residents on Saturday afternoon after a search. "It's a shock to us. The gate was open and it looked like someone was watching her, ”says Kussman. Miem Visagie, 55, a close friend of Coetzee, said they called police after they found blood at Coetzee's door. “She was a good person. I can't get over it. My heart is still sore. I didn't see her last Friday night. I'm going to miss her kindness, I'm already missing it. She always called me and asked if the water was right for coffee, ”she says. Art. Police spokesperson Peter Kareli said it was uncertain why the woman was killed. Only the little money Coetzee had with her was apparently used. No one has been arrested yet and a murder charge is under investigation.
