Services for Nels Thompson, 83, 902 S. 21st St., will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, with the Rev. George Larson, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr Thompson died Thursday at Trinity West Hospital where he had been a patient since Saturday morning.

There will be a flag presentation at the graveside by World War I Veterans and the American Legion.
Surviving are the widow Dell, and a sister, Pernille Torsvik, Bergen, Norway.
Mr Thompson was born near Bergen, Norway and came to the United States as a young man. He was employed at the National Gypsum Company more then 30 years prior to his retirement.
Mr Thompson and his wife observed their 53rd wedding anniversary on Dec. 7th, and had lived in their home at 902 S. 21st St., for more then fifty years.
Mr Thompson was a veteran of World War I, serving in the U.S. Army
He was a member of the American Legion.
