About Nicholas Chandler

Nicholas Chandler was born about 1540. He was not his father's oldest son and heir. That was Edmund Chandler.

On February 2, 1568, Nicholas Chandler married Edyth Spratt at Wilcot Church. They lived, until 1577, in Huish and Hilcot and had 9 children.

In 1601, Nicholas acquired the Oare lands by deed from his elder brother, Edmund Chandler de Oare, who had no children.

Nicholas, then known as Nicholas Chandler de Oare, died in 1604 and was buried in Wilcot Church on November 15, 1604, passing the land in Oare on to his oldest son Thomas Chandler.
