Hi, I think if these are duplicates they should be merged. If the problem is linking Catherine to Nicholas and Henrietta, then Catherine should be "de-linked" from them as her parents, rather than holding up the merger proposal if these two Nicholas's represent the same person. What do you think? On first comparison Massey-1432 and Massey-1255 seem like the same person based on the limited common data.
