Arrived Adelaide per ORMANDE on 26 Feb 1927 [Box 164]
sa svojim ocom Matom. Prva destinacija je Broken Hill- gdje se nadaju dobit posao u rudnicima. Kako je bila  Great Depression, nije bilo tamo posla jer je  vlasnik rudnika Broken Hill Pty Ltd  stavio u pogon parnu kopacicu pa je bilo 200 radnika viska. Poslije 3 mjeseca odlaze za  Iron Knob-SA gdje je njegov otac   uspio  dobit  posao za 6 mjeseci. Poslije tog odlaze  u Berrime_NSW gdje njegov otac  nalazi posao na Southern  Portland Cement Company (constructing the cement works) a Nikola  had a job  as a "nipper", he had to light the boilrs and keep them going to make the tea for the  lunch time break.. Tu su ostali 6 mjeseci i morali poci dalje u potrazi za poslom. 1929  otac i sin odlucuju da je najbolje da se razdvoje i traze posao odvojeno. Otac Mate odlazi trazit posao u  Innisfail-Quinsland. Kako ni tamo nije bilo posla uspijevao je povremeno raditi na poljima secerne trske cca 3 godine. Nikola  founf seasonal work in  various parts of NSW and Victoria-Young, cherry oisking. Mildura-picking grapes, Ballarat- digging potatoes, Shepparton- picking stone  fruits, Sylvan- pisking strawberries Nikola ostaje  u Melbournu dok ceka   da pocnu  sezonki radovi i tako cca 3 godine. Potom uspijeva dobiti stalan posao na  Simpson's orchard  u Shepparton nakon 3 godine povremenog rada

Nakon Simpsons u Sheppatron, Nikola odlazi u Bright-Victoria, radi na rezanju drva za ogrjev i opskrbu drvo za "dredges" na zlatnim poljima. While at Bright he paid visits to Melburne and joined the Australian Clay Target Association, he was hoping to get work in allied industries. Nikola has been a keen shooter all his life, unfortunately there was no work available in this area

In 1948 settled in rural Warriewood where had a transport busines carting farm produce from the many market gardens in Warriewood and Mona Vale to the City Markets. Nick was also Secretary/Business Manager of the Grover's Co-operative, responsible for the sale and despatch of produce, woeking from an office in George Street Haymarket. Hourse were long. Early morning start for the opening of markets and late pick up of produce in afternoon and evening. Unfinished office work was often brought home for completion. Regular Growers' Co-op. Board meetings were held in the family home. Very busy lifestyle. In early 2000 developers had moved into Warriewood changing its character from rural to suburbia , so in early 2002 moved to Newport where was able to indulge in his favorite hobbies, gardening and clay target shooting; he had helped found the NSW Clay Target Gun Club at Terry Hills and wos honoured with a Life Membership In 2007 died peacefully in his sleep at home aged 96
