About Nicolas Weber
Nicholas Weber was born June 15, 1845, in Reapich, Luxembourg to parents, Nicolas Weber and Anne Marie (Sander) Weber. He came to America in 1866 and settled in Hastings, Minnesota. He married Margaretha Speller who was born May 5, 1848, in Beche, Luxembourg.
He came to Hamlin County, where he staked a claim and then returned to Hastings to wait for an emigrant car to be available. He and his wife arrived in Kranzburg in 1878 when that town was the end of the track.
They proceeded to their claim northeast of Castlewood. They bought more land on April 24, 1890. In 1894, they moved to Watertown. After her death, he returned to Hastings until June 1932. An invalid, he returned to his home in Watertown where his son lived. They are buried in St Marys Cemetery in Watertown.
Nicolas and Margaretha Weber had one son. John N. Weber.
