Additional Biographical Information:
Shortly after four men allegedly shot a Ladybrand farm worker in the Free State, one of them was wounded when they allegedly fought over the loot and fired a shot from a firearm. The man was wounded in the shoulder.
Two of the men, Teboho Hlalele, 28, and Kabelo Motshoane, 19, of Ladybrand, appeared in court on Tuesday for housebreaking and theft. Mohlalefe Potsane, 24, who was wounded in the shoulder, is still being treated at Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein, where he is under police supervision.
The men will also appear in court on Friday for the murder of Nkolobetse Johannes Mofoti, 43, the farm worker.
Capt. Police spokesman Phumelelo Dhlamini said the men allegedly shot Mofoti at about 11am on Saturday when they struck the Borneo farm.
The safe was broken open and two guns, two handguns and an unknown amount of money and clothing were stolen.
The farmers and police arrested the three men near the farm shortly thereafter.
Another man is at on the loose.
