About Noah Farwell Blanchard
born 27 January 1821, Nashua, N.H., emigrated to Newark, N.J. in 1846 where he died 11 May 1881. Noah and brothers were a major supplier of leather goods during the Civil War through the company Blanchard Bros. & Lane. He was a co-founder of the Prudential Life Insurance Company, and was elected Director and First Vice-President, 13 October 1879.
