Chris married Lucy Etta Mae Bresaw on December 2, 1900 and after Ole died they made their home on the old Wentzel farm with Caroline. Chris built a new farm about a mile away in the winter of 1907-1908, moved to another farm near Guelph in 1932, and retired from farming in 1940, moving to St. Paul, MN, where Chris passed away in 1951 and Lucy in 1955.
Chris and Lucy had nine children. Uneeta was born in 1902 and died in 1916.
Vivian, born in 1904, married Roy Waite in 1934. They farmed in the Guelph area for several years before moving to Anaheim, CA, where Roy died in 1975.
Lelah, born in 1905, worked for the State of Minnesota in St. Paul from 1926 to 1940, moved to San Francisco and married Rudy Carlson. In 1950 they moved to Denver, CO where she died in 1976 and Rudy in 1980.
Olive, born in 1907, married Syrus Nordahl of Monango and the had one daughter, Donna Marie Nordahl. In 1947 she married Roy Gruetzman and they had one daughter, Susan Debra Gruetzman.
Nona, born in 1909, joined the WAVES in 1941, married Edward Garrett in 1945. Ed was a geologist and worked in Egypt, Thailand, Guatamela, and the Panama Canal as well as the United States. He retired in 1975 and they lived in Vicksburg, MS, where he had worked at the U.S. Waterways Project. They had three daughters: Toni Blair of Santa Cruz, CA; Daryl Lynn of Oregon; and Nona Jr., an airline hostess of Denver, CO., Nona passed away in 1981.
Nona attended N.I. U.N.D., Grand Forks and after teaching school for a year, attending University of California at Los Angeles, UCLA. She returned to Minnesota and taught in high school at Brainerd. In 1941 she joined the W.A.V.E.S. and during her service at an officers party, she met Edward Garrett, a native of California, who was serving in the Merchant Marine. They were married in 1945. After the war Edward finished his major in Geology and during his working years, he, Nona and their daughters lived in several different countries until his retirement at Vicksburg, while working with the Army Corps of Engineers for U.S.Waterways projects. They had 3 daughters: the oldest, Toni, living in Calif.; the second, Daryl, married with one child, living in Oregon; and the youngest, Nona, an airline hostess, living in Denver, CO. Nona, their mother, passed away in 1981.
