Norman Egbert Humphrey

In the first graduating Caltech in Pasadena, CA, in 1912 with a degree in electrical engineering. At one time Norman worked in various small towns between Azusa and somewhere west of San Bernardino where he was involved in the electrifiction of such towns.

One day Bob and Norma were with Norman driving north about a block south of the east-west main drag through the center of Azusa. He pointed to a little house on the east side of the street and said, "I used to live in that house. See that two story brick office building up there on the corner? No one could understand why anyone would want to put up a business building that big. Not long after we had such a snow storm that the folks in town got up on the roof to shovel it off for fear it would collapse. See that house to the east about two blocks down on the corner' I wired that house. When they built way down there, no one could understand why they would want to live so far from town. You know, we only had electricity for a few hours each day."
