Obadiah Holmes

Was likely an early settler of Cohansey Township, Salem County (Present Cumberland County), in that part of New Jersey that once was the Province of East Jersey. Since Cohansey was not settled until 1697, well after 1680, it isn't likely that he was born there, but rather probably was born in Monmouth County, where the rest of the children were apparently born after the family left Staten Island.
