Ole was youngest son on the Budsjord farm in Dovre. He married Marit Hansdatter Siem (1821) who inherited the Øvre Siem Gård in Lesja and took the name Siem. They had The following children: 1. Hans, 2. Hans, 3. Lars, 4. Ingebrigt, 5. Marit, 6. Marit, 7. Ola, 8. Ane, 9. Martin. They all grew up.

Øvre Siem Gård was not an easy farm to run and when Ole died in 1856 the farm was sold and Marit, the mother, took the youngest, Martin, her eldest son 1. Hans. He had married Anne, the oldest daughter from Blaker Gård and she had inherited that farm. There is where Martin grew up and 1. Hans, the 28 year older brother, must have been like a father to Martin
