Ole Avlesen Kaasen

Ole Alveson Kaasen (twin with John) was born on the Kaasen farm in Alvdal, Hedmark Norway. He married Marit Einund October 15, 1877 in Norway and they emigrated the following year to Wisconsin. They raised three daughters and three sons on their farm, one of whom died as an infant, three who stayed home and two daughters who married and had children.

Ole was one of six children, five brothers and one sister. His brother Joseph settled in Minnesota and preceded him in death by 50 years. His brother, Simen settled first in Wisconsin where Ole was. After losing two wives to death, Simen moved to Washington and preceded Ole by a year in death. Simen's first wife was my g.grandmother Ingeborg's first cousin and they were raised in the same part of Norway and emigrated about the same time.
