GEDCOM Note

He was shown as a husmann (cottager), and called Marsteen when he was married. Marsteen and Aukrust are neighbouring farms.

The Wisconsin farms of Ole, Elif, Christopher, Christ and Leva had been settled earlier by others.

Ole and Mary homesteaded in 1883 four miles west of Hayti, SD, about a half mile from where his son Alef had homesteaded two years earlier. After Mary’s death, Ole returned to Wisconsin to live with relatives until his death in 1917. Source Link: https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000118730840845&
