Col. Oscar Folsom, of Buffalo, son of Col. John B. Folsom, of Bennington in this county, was killed on Thursday evening last by being thrown from a buggy in the city of Buffalo.
Oscar Folsom was born in Folsomdale, in this county, about the year 1838. He was thoroughly educated, being prepared for college at Middlebury Academy at Wyoming, and going then to Rochester University, where he graduated in 1857. Not very long afterwards he went to Buffalo and entered the law office of George B. Hibbard, where he studied until he was admitted to the bar in 1861.
Soon after this he was married to Miss Emma Harmon, daughter of Gen. Harmon, of Wheatland, Monroe County, by whom he had one child, a daughter now 11 years old.
