"An Akron mail carrier for 25 years, Oscar Goad, 64... died Friday in City Hospital. Retired, he had been ill the last three years and had spent the last month in the hospital. Mr. Goad was born in Booneville, Ind., and was an Akron resident 39 years. He was a World War I veteran and a past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Firestone Post 3383. He was a member of Akron Moose Lodge 62; the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Retired Letter Carriers Association. Mr. Goad leaves his wife, Nellie; a daughter, Mrs. Ella Stadler of Akron; two grandchildren; six brothers, Richard E. and Leo of Knoxville, Iowa, Akilles of Pleasantville, Iowa, Argle of Elkhart, Ind., Milo and Melvin Moody of Poseyville, Ind.; five sisters, Mrs. Inez Walker of Lynnville, Ind., Mrs. Della Snyder of Valparaiso, Ind., Mrs. Deede Belle and Mrs. Mattie West of Booneville, and Mrs. Zella Schick of Rockport, Ind."
