Biography == Marie-Osithee was born in 1744 to parents Francois Arseneau and Marguerite Bernard. She married (1) Simon Joseph Leblancin about 1763-64 and that marriage was "rehabilitated" in 1772 in Nipisiquid. As there was only one priest for the entire Acadian region, many Acadians married before witnesses and had children, then had it officialized by the priest when he came by. This was the case with Simon and Osithe, whosemarriage was recorded by l'Abbé Charles-François Bailly June 22, 1772 in Nipisiguit. <ref> « Registre de l'abbé Charles-François Bailly de 1768 à 1772 (Caraquet) » (transcribed under the direction of Stephen A.
