"Osmon Osmonson was one of the leaders in organizing Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in 1876. He was the president of the congregation and at the same time a deacon. Osmonson died at home of 'lung fever.' According to the Gibson City Courier of June 3, 1887 the funeral was held at the Norwegian Church on May 21st. . Burial was in the adjoining Pontoppidan Church cemetery." - History of Ford County, Illinois - 1985

Osmon was married three times. His first wife was Ingeborg (Torbjornsdatter) Stangeland. Second marriage was to, likely, Taaren "Susan" Larsdatter, about 1850-51. Third wife was Martha Christofferdatter, married 2 Oct 1868.
