Otillia moved with her family to America when she was a girl of about 6 or 7 years old in 1882.
She entered religious life in 1895 and professed July 11, 1898 with the Convent of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota. She took the name, Sister Leobina, and she celebrated her Diamond (60 years!) Jubilee in 1958. She loved her life as a sister and was kind of a trailblazer in many ways. She helped build and then staff the hospital in St. Joseph. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in many capacities including giving Turkish Massage which was fairly new in those days!
She was also quite an expert in "Fancywork" until her eyes started to fail her.
As she grew older in life she was interviewed quite extensively by her younger religious sisters and these have survived to this day. I will locate them and add them here as they are a treasure!
