Poppo III, Graf im Grab- und Tullefeld was the ancestor of the House of Henneberg.2 He was born circa 885. He was the son of Poppo II, Markgraf der sorbischen Mark. Poppo III, Graf im Grab- und Tullefeld died in 945.

Gunnar Reinhold Ragnarsson von Arnold: I have boldly replaced Heinrich as Poppos father with Heinrich's brother Poppo Thüringen. Objections: Please contact me (also see attached document (media) with references and sources.

Reasons: I have some doubts that Poppos father was Heinrich von Babenberg, Markgraf in Friesland (Henricus II).

Instead it was possibly (Henricus brother [Poppo II, Graf & Duke in Thuringia, Graf von Tullifeld] - Poppo II vonThüringen.

Popp II was, among other things, Markgrave Nordgau (Not so Henricus). He did not inherit this title, he got it in 906. This title was taken over by Poppo I's son Babo. This for me, is a strong indication for this suggestion.

WIKI: Poppo was deprived of his offices and titles in 892.[7] According to Regino of Prüm, Poppo had advised Arn, Bishop of Würzburg, to undertake the expedition against the Slavs on which he was killed earlier that year. Because Poppo was replaced in Thuringia by Conrad and Arn was replaced by Rudolf, both Conradines, it has been supposed that King Arnulf was merely patronising one family over another: the Conradines and Babenbergers were feuding shortly afterwards. On the other hand, Poppo may have been punished for the ill-advised campaign of Arn. He was restored to his lands in 899 and made Count of the Bavarian Nordgau in 903. He was Count of the Volkfeld in 906. He died sometime after.
