About Parnell Fairchild Hubbard
Watertown Re-Union, Watertown, NY, Wednesday, March 24, 1897, Page 5
Parnell F Hubbard
The death of Miss Parnell F Hubbard, the last surviving member of one of the oldest Jefferson county families, occurred at her rooms at the Woodruff house Sunday night. Miss Hubbard was the daughter of Nodiah Hubbard, who, after exploring the trackless wilderness with Lemuel Storrs, began the settlement of what is now the town of Champion in 1797.
Miss Hubbard was the sister of the late Hiram, Ward and Justice Frederick W Hubbard, a sister in law of the late Hon. Robert Lansing and the late Hon. George C Sherman, and an aunt of John Lansing.
She was a lady of culture and refinement and of considerable literary attainments. She was 86 years of age and was the last surviving member of her family. For some time she had not been well, but death was the result of old age and its infirmities rather than of any definite ailment.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Oct 16 2021, 16:54:30 UTC
