Patricia J. Wacha, 81, of Clarkson, Nebraska, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, at the Golden LivingCenter in Clarkson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 29, at 10:30 AM at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson with Father Tim Forget celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the Clarkson National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 PM to 6 PM at the church with a Vigil Service at 6 PM Sunday at the church. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the church. Memorials are suggested to Clarkson Library or American Cancer Society.

Pat was born on January 1, 1931, in Omaha, Nebraska, to John and Norma (Conway) Hefti. She attended school in Omaha and graduated from North High School. Pat graduated from Omaha University with a teaching degree for high school English and journalism. She taught in Omaha for several years, and met Fred Wacha at a teacher's convention. They were married on July 8, 1961, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Omaha. They moved to Pilger for three years before settling in Clarkson where they both taught school. As their family grew, Pat stayed at home to raise their children. She did free lance journalism and had articles printed in the Schuyler Sun, Colfax County Press, Norfolk Daily News, The Catholic Voice and several different magazines. She was very active with the Clarkson Museum, Clarkson Library, Czech Days, Boy Scouts, SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, and Clarkson Women's Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, doing genealogy work, music, and traveling.

Pat is survived by Son: John (Monica) Wacha of Richmond Hill, GA Grandchildren: Joseph and Jacob Step-great grandson: Carson Daughter: Theresa (Ben) Gokey of Omaha, NE Son: Jim (Kim) Wacha of Lincoln, NE Granddaughter: Heaven of Burlington Junction, MO Grandchildren: Alex and Cody Great grandson : Julian Daughter: Annette Wacha of Buffalo, NY Brother: Joe (Rosemary) Hefti of Florida
