Patrick James "Paddy" Burns (10 March 1881 – 24 February 1943) was a New Zealand rugby union player. A halfback and three-quarter, Burns represented Canterbury at a provincial level from 1904 to 1913, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, between 1908 and 1913. He played nine matches for the All Blacks including five internationals.
A New Zealand rugby international. Essentially a halfback he played one of his Tests there in 1908, but when he toured Australia in 1910 the team captain (Fred Roberts) took that position so Burns played the three Tests in the three quarters, and then played his last Test in 1913 as a centre. He represented his province, Canterbury, over 10 years and played for the South Island 6 times. (Thankyou Tim Reynolds)
