About Patrick Campbell, 6th of Monzie
Biographical Summary
"Patrick Campbell of Monzie - second son of Colin Campbell of Monzie, (who got a charter from Charles II, dated 1st December 1676, of the lands of Monzie) and Anne Oliphant, was retoured heir to his brother Duncan (who died 17th June 1697) on the 2nd of July 1706. He was admitted advocate, 30th November 1709, and, on the 2d of January 1722, appointed one of a committee of the faculty of advocates, to revise the decisions collected by Alexander Bruce, advocate. On the death of Sir Alexander Ogilvie of Forglen, he was nominated one of the judges of the Court of Session, and took his seat as Lord Monzie, 10th June 1727. He died 1st August 1751, aged seventy-six; and Patrick, his only surviving son, succeeded to the estate of Monzie."
