Grandson of the Patriot, Patrick Henry.

Son of Martha Patsey Henry was the daughter of Patrick Henry and Sarah Shelton. Martha Patsey Henry married John Fontaine October 2, 1773; he was born 1750, died in 1792 of malaria at "Leatherwood" in Martinsville, Va. Martha was widowed at age 37. Patrick Henry Fontaine marrried Nancy Miller, the sister of Sarah Miller Shelton, who married Maj. Joseph Shelton, relation of Sarah Henry Shelton.

His home in Pontotoc, Miss. was known as "Rigeway"
