1509, 4 November - Patrick Maclellan laird of Gelstoun convicted of stealing a score of oxen from Patrick Agnew, sheriff of Wigtown. To be beheaded, but pardoned by the king.

1513 - Patrick Maclellan of Gelston. For slaughter. Forfeited bail and denounced rebel.

1513, September 8 - Patrick MacLellan of Gelstoun fell in battle at Flodden Field along with Sir William MacLellan of Bombie, a personal friend of King James IV; Sir Thomas MacLellan of Bombie and kith and kin. Gilbert MacLellan of Barmaghan fell on September 9, 1513.
