Per “COMMEMORATIVE BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD of Southern Wisconson,” 390 & 391, Monroe, Wisc. and“Census,” Town of Reading, Schuyler Co., NY, 1875, Internet by Bob Hayes, 2003 & Jan 2008, www.rootsweb.com/~nyschuyl the following Info: Paul moved to NY about 1793, settled in Seneca Co. abt 1800, lived in a log home. Later moved to Jennings, IN. Paul was head of house living in Town of Reading, NY in 1820. He was a splendid violinist. Active in temperament, became a cattle drover and frequently drove large herds over the mountains of VA. His sympathies were deeply enlisted in the cause of the slaves. He often assisted them in escaping from the fields of VA to a northern refuge.
