About Paul Adam Jonas
BELMONT - Paul Adam Jonas, 87, died Dec. 5, 2008, at Gaston Memorial Hospital
A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late Henry Walter and Nora Campbell Jonas.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at North Belmont Church of God with Pastor Lawrence Leonhardt, Dr. Jack Fox and the Rev Kevin Jonas officiating..
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont
Interment will be at Hillcrest Gardens in Mount Holly.
Paul was a member of North Belmont Church of God and served in World War II, 3rd Army under the command of General George Patton.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Nellie Fox Jonas of Belmont; sons and daughters-in-law, Marshall and Kim Jonas of Belmont, Bill and Joyce Jonas of Belmont, Ronnie and Becki Jonas of Gastonia; daughters and sons-in-law. Cecilia and Butch Lucas of Mount Holly, Angie and Lee Biggerstaff of Mount Holly; brother and sister-in-law, Floyd "Bud" and Pansy Jonas of Stanley; sister, Lucille Vause of Belmont; thirteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and one sister.
