- MULDERSDRIFT residents said the crime statistics released yesterday were a correct reflection of the turbulent year they have spent under siege. Murder cases in Muldersdrift in the past year rose from 10 to 19, while attempted murder went down from 42 to 35. Cases of assault with intent to do bodily harm went up from 14 to 27. Robbery with aggravated circumstances rose from 196 cases to 204. By Botho Molosankwe The Star 20/09/13 Early Edition Business robberies were up, with 92 cases recorded compared to 57 previously, the statistics showed. Burglary at residential places went up from 258 to 306, while robberies at homes went down to 19 from 24. From January last year to March this year, almost every person on Muldersdrift’s Clinic Road experienced violent crime. Some of the people killed who fell victim to crime on that road include: Dr Anne Biccard, shot at close range at home. Alyssa Botha, 13, shot and killed by robbers who also shot her father and sister. Andre Jordaan, shot and killed at home. Jacques Botha, shot dead in front of his wife and son. Mupo Ndhlovu and Keston Banda, shot execution-style and killed. El Marie Smit, shot by intruders. Kieran Harris, shot at home. An elderly man, killed in front of his wife and children during a robbery.
