GEDCOM Note

Ruth Marshall remembers Pauline Binion as Auntie Pauline. They would go on adventures and traveled together. Martha Binion sent Pauline to Paris to the Parsons school to study interior design. Here is a copy of a letter from Pauline to Ada Lazarus....

Dear Ada,
Esther sent me your letter to read so I know that you remembered me.
You also remember my son Maurice so I will tell you that he is the father of two fine boys. Maurice is teaching geology at the College of the City of New York. His wife is also a geologist but does not use the knowledge as a profession, she does however help correct examination papers for Maurice's classes. It is rather nice when husband and wife both speak the same language.
Esther told me that you were interested in the Binion Genenology. I am here copying a letter that Uncle Binion (Samuel A.) sent to my sister Beck some years ago.
"Although I am well informed in matters concerning that part of our genealogical tree which treats my mother's ancestors consisting Geonim and eminent writers etc., as far back as the 15th century. I cannot say the same of that part which treats my fathers ancestry. Documentary evidence can only be procured by tracing the whereabouts of my fathers hebrew ???, part of which was alloted to my step mother in Tiktin (????), the rest was my share which I presented to my brother-in-law, Rabbi Jacob (Yankele) Reinowitz of London. It was in one of the ???? of a heb???? volume that my father's family tree was written in full. I only recollect five generations ??: 1. Joshua (my father); son of 2. Bendet or Benedict; son of 3. Issac; son of 4. Moses; son of 5. Rabbi Bear; son of 6. Joshua. My father used to tell us that his gr-grandfather Joshua came from Holland and proceeded from the Spainish family Nunez = i.e. of the Nun family. Hence Ben Nun, "son or decendent of Nun".
My mothers ancestry can be verified both biographical sketches of Rabbi Hirsh, author of ???? and the most celebrated Samuel Koydinower (Marshak of Frankfurt. a/m
P.S. Ben-Nun = (Binion) will be fully explained, it is a lapsus calm??? - due to the ignorant villiage Burgomaster who erroron?? transcribed the name from a printed "legitrinacia" book into my passport.
I hope that you and all of your dear ones are in good health. My love to you all.
Affectionately, Cousin Pauline
P.S. I hope that you can make out my Hebrew.
(note: the above letter was hand written and hard to read and some of the edges were not copied)
