    Pain de Chaworth was a witness where Eva de Chaworth daughter (or granddaughter) of Pain de Chaworth.4 Pain de Chaworth was born circa 1191. He was the son of Lord Patrick de Chaworth and Werberg (?).2,3 Arms: Barry of ten or and gules an orle of martlets sable.5 Pain de Chaworth was surety, being at that time one of the barons-marcher, for Isabel de Mortimer that she could come to the king's exchequer on the octaves of St. Michael to satisfy for such debts as she owed to the late King John in 1217/18 at 2 Henry III.1 He married Gundred de la Ferte, daughter of William de la Ferte and Margaret de Briwere, before 1221.1

General Notes: Pain, one of the Barons Marches, became surety for Isabel de Mortimer that she should come to the king's exchequer on the octave of St. Michael to satisfy for such debts as she owed to the late King John. Pain married Gundred, daughter and heiress of William deila Ferte, heir to Margaret, 2nd daughter of William de Brewere, a great feudal lord, who died in 1226. With her he had Bridgewater in Somerset, and had a son, Patrick.
