Pearl Wilcox Goodwin, 93, long-time resident of Soda Springs, ID, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001 at the Oneida Nursing Home center in Malad City, ID. She was born June 12, 1908 in Davisville, west of Soda Springs, ID, daughter of Thomas Lewis and Sarah Poppleton Gunnell. She was one of 13 children. She attended schools in Davisville, Alexander and Soda Springs, ID.
She met and married Boyd Edwin Wilcox Sept. 26, 1928, her husband for 11 years. He died of a ruptured appendix. Later she met and married William Robert Goodwin. they lived in Soda Springs where Mr. Goodwin mined for Simplot and Anaconda Mining Co.
Survivors include one son, Robert S. Goodwin of Spanish Fork, UT; two daughters, Vera Bayer (George), Clinton, UT and Carma Barger (Delos) Downey, ID; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Boyd), her husband (Robert) and her 13 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 17, at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center with Bishop Ron Myers officiating. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
