Peter McAlpine

Baptized in 1835 at the Bunyan  Baptist Church near Wyoming, Ontario Canada.

Married Sarah Zavitz & had 12 children. Jonas was born 6th.

He ws a farmer, a thresher. Had his own brick soft soap kiln & made soap to sell. In winter he was a collecting agent for a stove factory in London,Ontario, Canada.

After Sarah's death, he left Canada (1867) with his family for Michigan. He rented the Tom Foster farm on the Flint River. He then purchased an 80 acre farm near Fostoria, Michigan, Dec. 6, 1867. He was a very religious man and at times preached in the Old Baptist Church in Mt Morris.
