About Peter Field Parsons
Peter Field Parsons, son of James William Parsons and wife, Mary Field Parsons, married Jane Mariah Standford, daughter of Richard Standford, on June 5, 1833, in Guilford County, North Carolina. Peter Field Parsons was the grandson of Col. Joseph William Field, who died at Battle of Kings Mountain in North Carolina during American Revolution,and his wife, Lydia Julian Field, whose father, George Julian, died in a skirmish before the Battle of Dorchester in Dorchester County, South Carolina, near Charleston in the American Revolution. Jane and Peter were parents of two children: William Milton Parsons (1837 - 1915) and Mary Irene Parsons Newby (1847 - 1915). After Jane's death, Peter sold their farm in Stokes County, North Carolina, and moved his family to Indiana.On January 16, 1858, he married his second wife, Sarah "Sallie" Couch, in Huntington County, Indiana. Sallie Couch was born in Guilford County, North Carolina, in 1822 to James Couch and wife, Sallie Edwards Couch. It is unknown when Sallie Couch moved from North Carolina in Indiana. Peter and Sallie had at least 2 children together: James Parsons (1858 - 1940), and John Adrian Lincoln Parsons (1863 - 1896). Jane, Peter and Sallie Parsons were Quakers.
