About Peter Williams
Camp Point, Ill., Jan. 15— The funeral of Peter Williams, pioneer of Adams county, was held Wednesday at the Christian church conducted by Revs. R. A. Omer and A K. Adcock. Peter, son of Peter and Anna Williams was born December 6. 1836 at Stagerstown, Pa. He was one of a family of six children and is the last of his family, all preceding him a number of years before except two sisters, Mrs. Sabina Schnell of Quincy dying last October and Elvina Frey of Liberty, 92 years of age who died just one week ago the same day at Liberty. Mr. Williams came with the family to Illinois at the age of seven years and had been a resident of this part ever since. In 1866 he was married to Mrs. Angelina Spence. To this union were born four children, one daughter dying in infancy and those surv ving are Mrs. Etta Sturdevant with whom he lived, Will Williams both of this place and Prof. Frank Williams of the University of Pennsylvania, also two step-son, Dr. J.
