He served in the Confederate Army, Company D, 3 Tennessee Mounted Infantry, also known as the "Bloody Third". He was captured by the Union Army on 4 July 1863 at Vicksburg, Mississippi and released on 10 July 1863. The first of September 1863, he was captured again and remained in Federal Prison at Claysville, Alabama until the end of the Civil War in 1864.
P.W.'s Civil War records lists P.W.'s last name as "Roberson", &, "Robison" Co. D, 3rd (Lillard's) Tenn Mounted Infantry (Page 1 on fold3) of his Muster Roll gives "Robison, P.W.", at the top of the page.
And, Roberson, P.W.", at the bottom of the page.
Co. D, 3rd (Lillard's) Tenn Mounted Infantry (#1413 on fold3) of his Muster Roll gives "Robison, Felix W.", as does the next page (Sept & Oct 1861)
