My 5th Great Uncle Philip Hocker (sometimes spelled Hawker) Earp was the son of my 5th Great Grandparents Josiah and Deborah Ellender Hocker-Earp. He was first married to Sarah Stogsdill on August 22, 1823, in Pulaski County, Kentucky. He then married Drada "Dorcus" Phelps, the daughter of Larkin and Anna J. "Polly" Dye-Phelps, April 19, 1831, in Pulaski County , Kentucky.

Philip appears in the August 22, 1860, Pulaski County, Kentucky census with his family but not in the August 2, 1870 census. It it presumed he died within this time-frame. The cause of his death and place of burial are currently unknown. His wife Drada died after June 7, 1880, in Pulaski County, Kentucky. Again, no information on her death or burial circumstances.
