Philip Edward Longo

PHILIP EDWARD LONGO 1922 – 2005 Left this earth to be with his Lord on February 2, 2005 in the Hospice of Palm Beach County Jay Lauer Unit in JFK Hospital. Phil was a proud veteran of WWII, served in the 101st Airborne, 82nd Division, and fought bravely in the Battle of the Bulge. Past Commander of Hollis Bellaire Post #980 in Queens, N.Y., worked for Western Electric for 26 years, served as volunteer in Hospice of Palm Beach County from 1978 through 1997. Cherished husband of Gloria for 56 years, he was blessed with a large family to whom he showed love and devotion. Rev. Cathy Felber and husband, Fred, Jeffrey Longo and wife Linda, Phyllis Maas and husband Franz, Philip Longo and wife Stacey. Son, Wayne predeceased him in 1961. He adored his grandchildren, Wayne Felber and Alex Maas, Gina and Kristin Longo and Le'na and Morgan Longo. Anyone who knew Phil can hear him singing, “Pennies from Heaven” and he is there now smiling down on all of his friends and family. Memorial Service will be held on Sunday afternoon, February 6th at 3:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 2511 Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL. In thanks to the workers who so tenderly cared for him at the Alzheimer's Lake Worth Day Care Center, donations may be made in memory of Philip E.
