About Philipp Windmüller (124-311-4)
Philipp had for many years a Sukkoh which was hardly built anymore by any other member of the community. The Sukkoh was between the barn and house. Many stories are told about 'Philipp'. One seems to show the close ties of the family with their hometown of Beckum. 'A farmer asked Alfred Windmüller, Weststr. 19 "tell me, Alfred, when all the Jews have left Beckum, who gets the Synagogue?" upon which Alfred answered "The one who is the last to live in Beckum." Tehn the farmer mused, "That would be Philipp, he will never go away"." (Translated from original Chronik 1938).
