P.P. CHURCHILL DEAD
At his home just east of the city, at 1 o'clock this afternoon, P.P. Churchill died. About a month ago he was taken with a paralytic stroke while driving on South Main street. Since that time he has been failing fast, and three other similar shocks were experienced. Deceased was one of the best hearted, upright and kindly men that ever lived. Simple in his wants and guileness in his daily walk, he commanded the respect that only the thoroughly upright can command.
He was born in Vermont in 1804 and preempted his farm of 165 acres, where he now lives in 1835. He married Miss Amanda Wright in 1831. She was born in Vermont in the same year as her husband and still survives him, three daughters also survive, Mrs. Kettlewell and Mrs. Chapman, and Miss Minerva Churchill. The time of the funeral has not yet been determined.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Mar 24 2022, 16:00:13 UTC
