Phoebe Johnson

Phoebe Moten Johnson, the daughter of Mary Moten, was among the first of Mrs. Obama’s ancestors to move to Chicago, sometime around 1908.

That Phoebe was well-loved by LaVaughn and her other children can be seen from the fact that she’s one of very few of Michelle’s ancestors who has a tombstone.
