Pierre, born Beaufort. July 12, 1685, w as a captain in the Provincial Militia and surnamed d'Apremont. He married an Indian princess of the Alabaman nation whose name in the Indian dialect was Malanta Talya. Capt. Pierre de la Lande d'Apremont was burned at the stake on Trinity Sunday, 1736, having been captured in battle by the Chicasaw Indians after a disastrous defeat of the forces commanded by Gov. Bienville.
