Information:

A will of the said John and Polignac, by which among other things they desire that the gift given to the said Peter at his marriage with the said of Livenne be effective, of the 28th of September, 1571.

PORTE (PIERRE DE LA), squire, Lord of Chatillon and La Vallade, was a gentleman of the chamber of King Henri IV. He married, by a contract of July 28, 1570, past Couvidon, a notary in Angoumois, Jacquette de LIVENNE, Dame de Saint-Genis, Vouzant, La Bergerie, etc., in Angoumois, Dampierre-sur-Charente and Puy-du-Mont, in Saintonge, daughter of Pierre, head of the family, and of Marie de Livenne, lord and lady of the said places; She was her widow on the 1st of July, 1591, at which time she was passing a settlement before Maillocheau, a royal notary, with Jehan de La Porte, squire, lord of Vieilleville, and another Jehan de La Porte, squire, lord du Pin, brothers ; It was confirmed in its nobility, on the 6th of February, 1599, by MM. The commissioners of the king.
