Prins Sverre Magnus, født 3. desember 2005.

Nummer tre i arverekken til den norske tronen, etter sin søster Prinsesse Ingrid Alexandra.

Prince Sverre Magnus of Norway (born 3 December 2005 in Oslo) is the second child of Haakon Magnus, Crown Prince of Norway and his wife Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway. Prince Sverre Magnus is a grandchild of King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway. He has one older half-brother, Marius Borg Høiby, and an older sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra.

He is third in the line of succession to the Norwegian Throne, after his father and his older sister. As a descendant of Edward VII, he is also in the line of succession to the throne of each of the sixteen Commonwealth Realms; where Sverre Magnus ranks ahead of his sister, since those Realms still follow the custom of male-preference primogeniture.

The prince's name was communicated in a council of state by his grandfather King Harald V on 5 December 2005 and that he will be styled and titled as His Highness the Prince Sverre Magnus. His closest family call him Magnus.

Both his names have a royal history; Sverre of Norway reigned in the 12th century, and Magnus has been the name of seven Norwegian monarchs. Crown Prince Haakon's middle name is also Magnus.

Prince Sverre Magnus was christened on 4 March 2006 by Bishop Ole Christian Kvarme at the chapel inside The Royal Palace in Oslo. He had seven godparents: his grandmother Queen Sonja, Princess Máxima of the Netherlands, Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, Princess Rosario of Bulgaria, Mette-Marit's brother Espen Høiby, and the crown couple's friends Bjørn Steinsland and Marianne Gjellestad. His older sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, had six godparents, including a king and three heirs to thrones.

Besides the godparents, several royal guests and politicians attended the christening, including Denmark's Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Norway's Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and Parliament President Thorbjørn Jagland.

Prince Sverre Magnus of Norway is the younger child of Crown Prince Haakon and third in line to succeed his grandfather, King Harald V.

Prince Sverre Magnus was born on 3 December 2005 at The National Hospital the Oslo University Hospital in Oslo, where his sister Princess Ingrid Alexandra had been born a year earlier. He was baptised by Bishop Ole Christian Kvarme at the chapel of the Royal Palace in Oslo on 4 March 2006.

Since 18 August 2011, Sverre Magnus attended Jansløkka elementary school, a local state school attended by his sister and half-brother. On 17 June 2014, the Norwegian Royal Family notified the public that from the start of the 2014-2015 school year, Sverre Magnus would transfer to Oslo's private Montessori school. His sister Princess Ingrid Alexandra, was to transfer to the also private English-language Oslo International School.

Sverre Magnus is third in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne following his sister, and, as a descendant of Maud of Wales, is also in the line of succession to the British throne, between his father and sister. He is a member of the Royal Family but not of the Royal House, which consists only of his grandparents, parents and sister. As descendants of the British King Edward VII's daughter Maud, members of the Norwegian royal family are also in the line of succession to the British throne; he precedes his sister in the British line due to male-preference cognatic primogeniture for those born before 2011.
